Family breaks and Children activities, theme parks in Picardy, Northern France

Theme parks | Air, land or water | Be a child again

Park Astérix is the second most widely known theme park in France and is certainly a theme park with a difference. Its unique theme and atmosphere make it a memorable experience for the whole family to enjoy. The park is based upon the world famous cartoon "Asterix and Obélix", two Gauls who bumble their way from one adventure to the next. The park offers its visitors a guided tour through history, with fun and excitement around every corner, from Europe's largest roller coaster to medieval banquets and jousting competitions.
It is situated just north of Paris within the Oise department, and there is now a hotel on site too. The park is open every day from 10am to 6pm during the months of April through to September. For more information on all the rides, shows, events, how to get there and even online bookings: www.parcasterix.com

Parc de la Mer de Sable

This theme park has been built in a naturally sandy terrain surrounded by forests. It takes you from the fast paced sandy environment of the Wild West to the mystery of the yellow mountains in just a few footsteps.

It is an ideal day out for the whole family to enjoy in the beautiful wooded surroundings of Ermenonville. There are many opportunities for you both to relax, and to test your courage on some of the more dare devil rides.

Samara

A fun and educational day out, Samara is a life size prehistoric exhibition covering 30 hectares in the Valley of the Somme, 13 kilometres west of Amiens. During your visit you are transported back into prehistoric times through the sights and sounds that you experience. Samara is comprised of an arboretum, botanical garden and an entirely reconstructed prehistoric village, in which craftsmen are eager to demonstrate their skills to you.
