Something totally different is to visit La Ferme d'Antan. This traditional farm (situated 10 kilometres south west of Amiens) has been recreated to show how earlier generations lived in Picardy. You can therefore see an impressive collection of authentic antique items as well as all kind of poultry and farmyard animals.

Want to get a taste of life in mediaeval times? Well, take part in the reconstruction of the mediaeval château of Eaucourt-sur-Somme (near Abbeville) in the Espace médiéval. The stonecutter, the blacksmith and even the warrior are there in period costume to show and explain how they exercised their 'trade'.

What about a glimpse of life underground? Naours is an underground 'city', the largest of its kind in the world. It can accommodate 3 000 people with their livestock, and was dug to provide shelter in times of invasion from the 3rd century onwards.
